Maria Blasingame (b. 2002) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Northern Kentucky. She received her BFA in Painting from Northern Kentucky University in 2024. Her paintings are composed with collage processes reflecting nonlinear recollections and multiple perspectives and her compositions assembled from an ever growing collection of screenshotted and scanned images, rearranging with ideas of cycles and repetition until an underlying narrative reveals itself. Blasingame is drawn to collision sports, human features, animal handling, and machinery to explore the inner battle of pushing apart or pulling closer and the unfounded fears of vulnerability.
